Why servicing is essential for you car
Regular servicing reduces the risk of breakdown and keeps the car in better condition and when stamped in your service book, adds £’s to its resale value.
An MOT is an essential safety check, but should not to be confused with a service. MOT testers are forbidden to remove or replace any item. A service allows us to change and/or inspect essential fluids and components such as oil, brake fluid and key filters.
It always makes sense to have an MOT & service together – it saves time & money!

Oil & Filter Change
£150
MOTEST offers a fixed price oil & filter change for £150 inc. vat for all cars up to 3.0 litres.
Why is clean engine oil important?
Old and dirty oil will impact the health of your engine. Over time as it loses viscosity and gets contaminated, it will accelerate wear on key components like bearings. Just topping up with fresh oil and not changing the clogged filter is not the answer. If you do nothing else to your car, ensure you change your oil and filter to the recommended frequency as stipulated by the manufacturer.
At MOTEST, we will select the correct grade and filtration and check the sump plug is serviceable.
However, while good engine oil is critical to the health of your car engine, remember it is not a substitute for a service.
Why not upgrade to an Essential Service?
If you are thinking of an oil change, why not consider upgrading to our Essential service. Apart from oil & filter it looks at brakes, tyres, battery condition and much more to give you peace of mind that you car is safe.
When taken with an MOT which is not heavily discounted on the oil& filter change, it only costs an extra £40

Essential Service & MOT Class IV
£225 or £250 with MOT
Minimum maintenance requirement to keep you on the road
What does it cover?
Great way of getting a low cost inspection on key items such as brakes, plus oil/filter change as well as top ups on the essentials in order to guarantee you peace of mind.
When should I get an essential service?
Very useful especially when combined with an MOT, if you have an older car of modest value and want to keep it going “another year”.
Also great for cars that do very low mileage in a year, which should be alternated with a major service every other year.

Full Service & MOT Class IV
£325 or £350 with MOT
Covers items that need inspecting or changing 12,000 miles or 12 months
What does it cover?
Provides a very comprehensive service, covering engine, cooling, transmission, replacement pollen filter, wheels/tyres, steering, electric’s and body, for both petrol & diesel.
In addition, we plug in our diagnostic equipment to check & report any fault codes. Finally we will ensure the service book is stamped including electronic ones.
When should I get a full service?
- 12 months or 12000 miles since last service and should be alternated with a major service.
- Over a 12-month period or with high mileage, oils and other fluids will deteriorate. In addition critical safety items such as brakes and tyres will wear, so a detailed check of such items is essential.
- Car has just been purchased and last service was nearly 12 months ago.

Major Service & MOT Class IV
£375 or £395 with MOT
Covers items that need inspecting or changing 24,000 miles or 24 months
What does it cover?
The most comprehensive service available. Its a full service plus brake fluid which should be replaced every 2 years.
- Brake fluid – after 2 years, brake fluid will have absorbed so much moisture, that the boiling point drops, leading to poorer performance and potentially failure.
- Some high mileage cars may require a fuel filter change which is offered as a £75 extra.
When should I get a major service?
- As mentioned, brake fluid must be changed at 2-year intervals and possibly the fuel filter. By alternating with a full service, your vehicle will be kept at peak maintain levels, with benefits on reliability, economy, performance and environment.
- If you have just bought the vehicle and there is no service book or record, this service will cover everything for peace of mind.

Manufacturer Scheduled Service
Why choose a Manufacturer Scheduled Service?
A Manufacturer scheduled Service is specific to your car’s make, model, mileage and age. There are several advantages to Manufacturer-Scheduled Servicing:
- It continues to keep the vehicle services to manufacturer’s schedules.
- Your car’s warranty is maintained. Regulation allows MOTEST to carry out the correct service using OEM parts during your vehicles warranty.
- Your service book entries are correctly maintained.
